Services

The Chelsea Improvement Company provides the following services within its boundaries:

• Picking up litter from sidewalks and gutters
• Removing graffiti from public and private property
• Providing and maintaining furnishings (chairs, tables, and umbrellas) at two public spaces: the Chelsea Triangle at Ninth Avenue and 14th Street, and a section of Hudson River Park at Tenth Avenue and 14th Street
• Having CIC security patrol the streets from 6 PM to 4 AM on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays
• Sponsoring and managing free, public fitness programming in public spaces (yoga, capoeira, salsa dancing, belly dancing, and other classes)
• Providing free wireless internet access at the small park at Tenth Avenue and 15th Street
• Sponsoring and managing free, public art exhibitions and musical performances in the public spaces
• Planting and maintaining trees and flower beds
• Planting and maintaining trees, shrubs, and flowers in the Chelsea Triangle
• Maintaining building façade lamps, trash receptacles, tree pit fences, parking signs, illuminated street signs, and bike racks that have been installed by the Chelsea Improvement Company since 2007.
