Pedestrian Façade Lamps

86 units installed

Standard New York City streetlights are meant to light the city for everyone, but for the most part, they only light the streets for cars and drivers, leaving the sidewalks dark for pedestrians. To improve safety and the urban experience for pedestrians at night, CIC designed custom cast-aluminum façade lamps mounted on buildings in the neighborhood.

The façade lamps don't use any sidewalk space, as sidewalk lightpoles would, making them ideal for the narrow sidewalks of the neighborhood. The full cut-off lamps create a soft carpet of white light on the sidewalk. During the day the lamps become part of the streetscape as they punctuate the façades in the neighborhood.
